Juanito Surfboards: you said Breton?

Juanito Surfboards: you said Breton?

When it comes to getting their first #customboards, #kooks tend to believe they can either acquire the talents of @mctavishsurf or @pyzelsurfboards famous owners by splashing out on these boards, or will go to the other extreme of convenience and choose factory production.

Local #Breton #shaper Erwan aka #Juanitosurfboard knows that the best boards are born from a good understanding of the surfer, their ability, style, wave conditions, something that can only be truly assessed with a face to face conversation, when shapers can build rapport (or educate kooks and debunk misconceptions as required).
Erwan started shaping after a trip to Cornwall, UK, where he irremediably fell in love with surfing. Formal nautical engineering training, endless conversations with local windsurfing DYI enthusiasts and years of practice eventually led to the birth of Juanito #surfboards, first established in 2000 near the Breton spot of #LaTorche.
Juanito is a figurehead of the booming breton surf industry, when foreign visitors still largely believe French surfing is confined to Hossegor (just as well, let's keep it that way & #stopdroppingpins as suggested by @stab 😉). Once you've heard Erwan talk about shaping technicalities like the frothingest of groms, or seen Breton team riders @thomasjoncour and @adrien_boedec in the lineup, you will understand why it might be a good idea to bypass the big brands and the factory. 🏄 #supportlocalshapers
